Hello Parents and Students,

My apologies for not posting on the website yesterday. As you may have heard, I had a minor hospital procedure and was therefore away for the day.

Today we continued to work through patterns in math. I have set a date for our first math test… Thursday, October 5, 2017. On the “Test” link above, I have included the Jump Math pages for the students (and parents 😉 ) to study over the next week. Although we have not yet completed all of the pages listed, students can get an early start at looking ahead to the test 🙂

In Language Arts we continued to work on our poetry. In particular, students spent the afternoon finalizing their Haiku poems, complete with artwork. Next week we will get into some more complex poetry styles.

Today we also took some time to do some self-reflection/self-evaulation. I asked the students to self-reflect on their name-tag art as well as self-evaluating their work on the About Me projects.

Finally, in the afternoon, we took a little glimpse into the coding world, talking about how coding is linked to a topic near and dear to many of their hearts… video games. I ended that discussion by showing them a few classic games on my old NES console 🙂 Lots of fun!!!

Have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing the students on Monday rested and ready to learn!!!
