Hello Parents and Students,

Welcome back!!! I was so thrilled to see everybody today… most students seemed happy, rested, and ready to go.

Today we started off slow… some computer coding (Hour of Code), grid art, library, spelling, silent reading, and some holiday stories. Tomorrow we will really begin to dig into the curriculum again. With that said, here are some things coming up over the next days/weeks…

Language Arts – We will be looking at the power of words and text. In particular, we will look at persuasive writing.

Math – I think I am going to start looking at fractions, decimals, percents and ratios with the class. I might change my mind this evening but that is the direction that feels right. Stay tuned 🙂

Science – Later this week we will begin to look at space (i.e. the position, moron and components of our solar system and in our galaxy).

Social Studies – This week we will start to research government, at home and abroad. As well, we may begin to dip our feet in the waters with respect to economics and the imbalance of wealth around the planet (i.e. poverty).

As for the rest of the subjects, the content is coming and will likely intertwine with the core subjects listed above. I am really excited to get teaching again!

Have a wonderful evening!

Mr. Meyer

Enjoy one more night of homework freedom 😉
