Hello Parents and Students,

The students should be coming home today with their marked math tests. Overall the class did quite well with Patterns and Algebra (81% average). Any student who got a mark lower than 32/46 can complete test corrections and I will boost their mark by 1/2 a letter grade. Corrections are optional and due on Friday.

In math today we started a new unit on Number Sense. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at concepts like: place value, expanded form, comparing/ordering numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, factors, multiples, etc.

In science we continued to learn about Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion. In particular, we started to research some of the important scientific vocabulary that we will need over the coming days (e.g. force, inertia, mass, acceleration, etc.).

In social studies we continued to work on the Cereal Box Project which is now due on Thursday morning.

Hope this information is useful. Parents please remember to ask your child what they learned each day to help check understanding.
